Brief Description: VOZ is an ethical fashion company that celebrates global culture by uniting designers and master artisans to create sophisticated, sustainable apparel and accessories. VOZ has established scalable international sales channels that provide rural artisans with livable incomes where formal economies don’t exist.

The Problem: Artisan communities in emerging markets face many difficulties including access to a stable market to sell their products, competition from cheap, imported knockoffs, access to business and design expertise, and access to steady and livable incomes.
The Solution: The VOZ team uses Stanford d. school’s Collaborative Method to train artisans in design innovation -- allowing them to compete against cheap, imported knock-offs of their traditional crafts. Artisans are then able to adapt their creative ideas and traditional art forms into ready to wear (RTW) fashion collections that celebrate their heritage.
Impact: VOZ currently works with over 150 indigenous artisans in Chile and has aggressive social-impact plan. In five years, it is projected that VOZ can:
- Train and employ 858 people living in rural poverty
- Offer 83 leadership roles to indigenous women
- Indirectly employ over 1500 skilled workers
- Bring 440 artisan designs to market
- Provide free design education workshops to its production partners
- Transform 15 fashion industry leaders into sustainable beacons of influence in their field
The Team: VOZ is led by a creative and enterprising team based in the United States and Chile. VOZ CEO and Creative Director Jasmine Aarons has over eight years in product design, business strategy, and Latin America fair trade production. She was also an Ethical Fashion Forum 2013 Design Leader.
